The Sheriff's Civil Service Commission promotes professionalism and rights of appeal for employees of the Sheriff's Office as set forth in rules and regulations formulated, adopted, and administered by a seven-member Civil Service Commission. The director is appointed by the commission in accordance with the Local Government Code, Chapter 158, Subchapter B.
